Sobre mí
Hola. I go by Señor Jordan and in college I majored in Spanish and communications at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. I currently teach junior high and high school Spanish in a rural school in MO.
I first started learning Spanish in high school and ever since then, I’ve been in love with the Spanish language. I studied abroad while in college in Costa Rica. I also traveled to Mexico for a week on a missions’ trip. I’ve since helped out as an interpreter for a mission’s trip to El Salvador and another one to Guadalajara, México.
While I was studying at Truman, I stumbled upon a Spanish-speaking community in a nearby town and quickly became a part of them through a local church. Since then, I have actively been a part of their congregation and I currently live in the community.
People often have asked me how they can learn Spanish better and I’ve noticed that there are not very many good free resources. I would also not like to recommend someone to use a paid service since I would hate for them to waste money on a bad program.
Due to that and my wanting to help out my students, I decided to start this site. My idea is much larger, but for now I will be uploading videos to help on Spanish grammar. Hopefully they will help you as well!
¡Adiós!
-Sr. J

Hola,
I was introduced to your website/youtube this summer (2012). LOVE IT! Wish I had found it sooner! I teach at a public high school in CA. and have a very large % of spanish speakers. I have been taking Spanish in night classes at the local commun. college for 2 semesters and your site is such a great resource in helping me understand some new vocabulary and concept.
Your videos are so well done and to the point.
You are AWESOME! Keep up the good work.

Sr. Jordan,
Jaja! Gracias por todo lo que hace.
Sr. Harrison

Hello,
your better then my Spanish teacher!
Thank you for all the help
As a suggestion you should put up a video on Prepositions of location and a video on expressing negation: indefinite and negative words.

Sr. Jordan,
I’m flipping my classroom (what was classwork (especially the lecture) is homework (‘lecture’ via video) and what was homework (follow-up activities for mastery) is now classwork) and your videos are helping me accomplish this as I find ways to record video that works technically on our computer system. You are a LIFESAVER! You do a fabulous job!!!

Senor Jordan,
Could you do a video on subjunctive?
I’m not understanding it for class

Señor Jordan,
I am a homeschool teacher and I also teach Spanish I in our co-op class. This year I decided to get rid of the boring text and go real world with a flipped classroom approach. You site helps me and my students tremendously!
I would love to see some videos for Bible Verses.
¡Muchas Gracias!

Hola!
I’m Remie! I live in Davao City, Philippines. I’m currently taking up my bachelor’s degree in secondary education major in English at the University of Southeastern Philippines. You might be asking why I am interested to learn Spanish while i am majoring English. Well, in our country, Spanish was used to be an official language. Even our national anthem was originally written in Spanish. But wars came and so did the American who tremendously made major modification in our educational system. English is now our official language. It’s a good thing after all because we are known to be the best Asian English speakers. But just recently, our government is planning to revive the Spanish language making it as one of the major subjects in schools. So I think it will be very helpful if I start learning as early as now. I like your videos. I actually downloaded all of them. I’ll try to donate whenever possible. Thank you so much! I highly appreciated the effort!

Thank you for the work you do. I am a Spanaish teacher and have taught for 27 years. I always am looking for fresh new ways of presenting materials and have used yours in my classroom. Thanks for your testimony as well.

Sr Jordan…
I have just moved to spain, completely on my own. Im a little bit scared, and you have calmed me.
I think I love you
and hope you know how much you are appreciated.
If you ever need a place to stay in London, let me know (or fancy a holiday to Valencia ) x

Hola!

By Yoshuara Acuña, October 30, 2012 @ 6:12 pm
Hola Sr. Jordan,
Sinceramente,
Sra. Acuña

Hola! I’m a high school student in Spanish 3, and my Spanish 3 teacher shows the Spanish 3 class, her only one I might add, your videos on YouTube. My mother is Peruvian (I’m only half, my papa is American) and I wanted to learn Spanish to speak to her parents.

Senor Jordan,
I thank you for making these videos and being willing to share with others simply for the joy of learning. Well done.

Hello Sr Jordan.
I hope you are doing well. I was looking for good resources on the web, when I could watch one of your videos. Learning Spanish is one of my resolutions for 2013, and I am sure that your videos will help me a lot, as well as your website. Congratulations for your wonderful work. The way you teach is very clear and interesting!
Greetings from Brazil,

Jeremy,
I need to find in the first 67 videos where you did mention very briefly the present perfect, he, has, ha, hemos, han. Could you help me?
By Ellen Dill, January 16, 2013 @ 8:08 am
I love your videos – do you flip your classroom? I would love to talk to you about it. I am primarily a French teacher (https://mme-dill.wikispaces.com) but do a 7th grade Spanish I course most of the time as well. I make videos – but they are not as fun or colorful as yours! I’m planning to watch some of your videos regarding art, etc., but would love to talk to you more about vocab videos, etc. Please e-mail me if you have time. Thanks! Gracias.

Thank you so much for making these videos! They have helped me so much! I just started Spanish 101 in college and its been 15 years since high school Spanish, so I am pretty nervous about passing this course. I also chose to take this class online instead of at the college and I think its probably a little harder this way. However, I have found that if I am having a hard time understanding something in my textbook, your videos help me tremendously!! You do a great service for people, especially by making your videos and lessons free. Thank you!

Thanks for your site, and your lessons! I began taking an adult education class this fall in Spanish at the local high school in a small town in Idaho (I came out here from Missouri). I wanted to have more opportunities to practice, and to study the verb tenses during Christmas break, so I started searching YouTube and found your videos. They’re informative, and entertaining, and full of the cultural info that’s helpful to students and travelers alike! My instructor taught in Spain, and his explanations of the cultural differences between Spain and Mexico are something I feel I’ll be able to use, just as much as your insights. I’m not sure whether I will use my learned knowledge in teaching, or communicating, but I love to learn languages, and it’s nice to attend an armchair course–your service is valuable!
By Brian Phan, January 30, 2013 @ 11:01 am
God bless you, thanks you for the videos which is helping me fast track my Spanish review.
By Phyllis, February 2, 2013 @ 10:48 pm
So glad I found your videos and website! My family and I are planning a move to Mexico later this year, and we need to learn. And, the format is great for our 15 yr old! We plan to homeschool him, so we’ll definitely have him take Spanish “in school” but this will help now and can complement his course. God bless, and keep up the good work!! ps we live in Southwest MO, just south of Joplin and we have a good Hispanic population. We’re considering attending our church’s Hispanic services to “immerse”, meet some new people, and practice.

Stumbled upon your u tube videos by accident and loved them. I am self taught and speak well but grammar has been a problem. I study and volunteer with the Spanish community 2 times a week and, like you, I have a love for the language. My family travels to Mexico once a year and volunteer within the community. In NC i am also an RN at the hospital so your videos fit my level of understanding so much more then other traditional lessons as I am too far to start from the beginning but your lessons “connect the dots” for me!!! Thank you!!! M

Hola Sr. Jordan!
I am an Arabic/English freelance translator and have been learning Spanish for some time now. I am so glad I have come across your website. Tremendous amount of work and effort put in these videos and writing materials. Although I depend on so many websites and youtube videos to help me with the language, now your website has become the first and primary source of my learning. Muchisimas Gracias from the bottom of my heart. God Bless!

Sr. Jordan,

Sr. Jordan,
I just wanted to make sure you knew how much I appreciate your videos. I have been showing them in my classroom for years and they are sooo helpful. (By the way, I’m a Missourian, too! I taught in Springfield my first year and now teach in Nixa at the high school.) You have a wonderful way of explaining the material, and have an excellent accent. I was SO glad when, upon looking for videos of yours to show to a homebound student, I found that you had added (and will be adding) several new videos! These are concepts that I had been hoping you’d cover; thank you so much for taking the time to add them. All in all, it is very giving of you to make these videos and that you allow us to use them. You are a fantastic teacher; keep it up!

Buenas noches, sr. Jordan:

Pedro
