¡Hola! Someone commented on Twitter that it would be nice if there were a song helping with that pesky concept known as: Preterite Vs Imperfect. As you probably know by now, they are both past tenses with different uses and meanings! We cover those in this song!
Here’s a blog that I started to accompany the “mono” story I’ve been working on every so often.

The idea is to learn Spanish in a more natural, repetitive way.
It’s more focused on high frequency structures (goes, likes, wants, needs) and less on long vocabulary lists. Check it out and let me know what you think!
And I’ve also been adding additional guided questions in every post for people who wanted additional practice or guidance as they watch the vids!
Here’s a little video to help you with all of the -ER verb endings in the present tense in Spanish! It explains how to remove the –ER from the end of the verb and then add the endings. And hopefully it gets stuck in your head due to its catchiness!
Hola. In this video lesson we’re talking about complementos directos. We use these to talk about objects and people in Spanish when those are the object of the verb. If you’re still a little confused, watch the video. 😉
Hello everyone. So I understand that some of you are learners who would like to download these lessons to your ipod or you’re teachers who would like to download them to show them in your classes.
On this post, I’ll give you an idea on how to go about doing that.
Disclaimer: Please understand that I give you permission to download my videos provided you are not financially profiting off of them. Downloading other videos from Youtube could get you in trouble legally. So please use the program with caution. Read more…
(please note that Mexico is NOT part of Central America even if it appears misleading in the video). I was coloring the Spanish speaking countries. Note that Belice is officially an English speaking country, but Spanish is also used (from what I understand).

Thanks for your feedback! I’ve decided to keep the Paypal button since I can’t see it deterring people from learning.

I read an article awhile back about restaurants where you could pay whatever you thought was fair. Sometimes people overpay, other times people underpay. It intrigued me. (See story)

If you’re wanting to learn how to type accent marks as you work on your Spanish here are the ways for a PC user. I used to know how to do it on a Macintosh but I have since forgotten!
In Microsoft Word / Wordpad
Simply follow the directions below:
1) pressctrl and‘
2) release
3) press key of vowel you would like to accent
4) release
example: [ctrl and ‘] + [a] = á
For ñ, [ctrl and shift and ~] + [n]
For any other program
Make sure num-lock is on. This is important because you’ll be using the number keypad (numbers on the right side of keyboard).
You’ll press alt, type in the code below, and release alt and it will yield the resulting letters.
Á = 0193
á = 0225
É = 0201
é = 0233
Í = 0205
í = 0237
Ó = 0211
ó = 0243
Ú = 0218
ú = 0250
Ü = 0220
ü = 0252
Ñ = 0209
ñ = 0241
¡ = 0161
¿ = 0191
